We're Back

WOO HOO!! THAT was a busy vacation. I'm not sure if I would even call it a vacation. At least to me it wasn't. It was up every morning at 7:30 make a big breakfast - every day it was bacon/sausage, biscuits, gravy and eggs - pack for lunch at the lake, stay at the lake for FIVE hours (that's a lot for me by the way) and then rush back to the "farm" and prepare dinner. After each meal we had to clean up and run the vacuum (to keep the bugs out).

I have loads of pics and a lot to share but just wanted to say "hey" and that I will post some time this week. I have a lot to do since today is The Hubbs' birthday - he's 43 today. I'm baking a red velvet cake - YUM - his favorite AND I must go buy one of those iPod thingies. Let's not forget that the kids want to go swimming so I'm trying to accomplish that as well.

Welcome home!

Camping vacations like that are a blast, but it sure is good to get home to your own space again, isn't it? I have lots of fond memories of vacations in the Smokies with the family and our pop-up trailer, but I sure could have done without having to help Dad set up and take down in the rain.

And no matter where you are when you're inside the thing, you're always in someone's way, and anything you need is always under the bench that someone's sitting on. =)

It sure was good to get back into my bed instead of sleeping on an air mattress. I just hope the kids have "fond memories" of it all.

I am tired from reading about your vacation! Now you need someone to come in and do housework and cooking for you for a few days so YOU can relax!

Your hubby will love the iPod! They are wonderful.

Welcome back!

Barbara - You ain't kiddin'. I had a mound of laundry after this trip.

Kish - As soon as I can remember I will try to post my recipe.

Fred - Thanks FRED!

Badoozer - Yes, I bought the evil iPod but we took it back - so there. I'm not real thrilled with the amount of money it costs and not being able to replace the battery. Oh, and yes, The Hubbs helped - a bit.

Meow - I don't mind camping but I DO mind "cooking" while campling. Cooking should only be done for dinner around the grill/campfire. Otherwise, eat some donuts for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch.

Ms. Sometimes - it WAS yummy. The best part is the frosting. I'm still trying to decide if I had fun on the trip.

Okay, I'm working on my camping post so be patient. I'll I have accomplished so far is download the pictures. Then I have to work on my "narrative". :)

Badoozer - get out of here!! No, the battery is not replaceable. You either have to send it in for some $60 repair or buy a new one. I paid $70 for a shuffle which recharges itself. Once it loses its ability to recharge it's pretty much trash. At least that's what I have found out. So, we're just going to wait it out and see who else comes out with one

58 - The only time I make red velvet cake is at Christmas or for The Hubbs' birthday. He likes the Italian Cream cake as well but since it has pecans and HubbaDette has a tree nut allergy, I decided to pass on it. I usually leave out the nuts but it loses something when you do that.

Badoozer - Anything bigger than a shuffle is too much $$ for us. We're just gonna hold out for a while.
