Never-Ending Laundry

I am astonished at the amount of laundry I have every day. It is ridiculous that we even have enough clothes to create such a mess.

The laundry room is a catch-all for the upstairs which just makes matters worse. You should see it right now - it still looks like this and there is a pile of clean laundry on my bed (on my side of course) waiting for me to finish on this crazy blog so I can go push it all onto the floor and deal with it tomorrow. We should only have one outfit and one pair of undies for each day of the week. Life would be much easier wouldn't it?

I always know when I'm very behind with the laundry when hubby wakes me at 5:00 a.m. and asks if he has any clean underwear. What kind of question is that at 5:00 a.m.? Why didn't you say something to me yesterday when you realized you took the last pair out of the drawer? Wait, go dig around in that big pile on the floor next to the bathroom door - there might be a pair in there. And don't turn the light on, I'm trying to sleep!

HELP! I have a Laundry Monster on my couch!!

I hate to fold socks more than any other piece of laundry. I have a large tub full of single socks. WHen I get the urge it takes me 2 solid hours to fold them all.

I want to throw them out but I am too poor to go buy new ones.

For some reason, I don't have the sock problem. I remember those days growing up and never being able to find matching socks.

Last night before we turned in Joe asked me if he had clean underwear. I told him to wake me up at 5am and ask me again. NOT!

Susie - Well, he's usually pretty sensative about keeping very quiet and not turning on lights when he's getting ready for work. I usually don't know he's up until he kisses on me before he leaves.

Most of his work clothes are hanging in the laundry room - he finds what he wants to wear, irons it, and puts it on. The only thing in the bedroom he has to get is underwear and socks.

Aunti J - I'm not a big fan of the underwear or "do I have any clean jeans" alert just before bed either. Who's going to stay up and do a load of laundry now. WAIT! I will!! I can stay up and blog!

Oh good, now I'm feeling better about my laundry monster. I thought I had the laundry pretty caught up until I discovered that everyone has been hoarding dirty clothes in their bedrooms.

Nice photography, Anne. The bluish tinge provides just the right sense of desolation and despair for the never-ending pile of dirty duds.

Kind of like the scenes from Joe's office in Joe vs. The Volcano.

This crazy camera of mine is so crummy - but it was free so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Your pic makes me feel a bit better.

I'm working on our teenagers doing their own stuff - so the MUM I have no socks (because I didn't put my stuff out to be washed) doesn't apply anymore.

clever eh?

oh and i have an everest high pile of ironing to be done (mostly hubby's shirts)YUK - I mean a VERY HIGH MOUNTAIN

see-through faith - I told my son one day (he's 6) he was going to follow one of his shirts through the whole process of what it takes to get it back to him. I said this after I was very upset over ANOTHER dirty shirt that day.

Laundry is a never-ending plague.

honkeie2 - clean pile to dirty pile - I know all about that! My sister-in-law can't seem to figure out how I have so much laundry - she has three teenage boys and doesn't have the amount of laundry I have. She said she picks it up, gives it a good smell and hangs it back up. I told her that only works on smells not chunks and stains.
