Nocturnal Enrichment?

Could someone please explain to me what "nocturnal enrichment" is?

This little elementary school down the street from us - the one the HubbaDoo Two would be attending if we weren't homeschooling - has an obnoxious blinding red marquee sign out front and we have to pass this every time we go to our little town. They apparently post information about upcoming events, etc. SO, the other day when I drove by the sign read "Nocturnal Enrichment" with a date under it. What in the world is this? I know they have newfangled names now for PE and whatnot - whatever.

Anyone have a clue?

I have no idea, but it sounds kind of suspicious to me...

No clue, and Google didn't help much either. My guess is that it's the name for evening classes put in place for parents who work evenings? You know like the breakfast and early morning programs for kids whose parents go to work early. That's just a guess, though, and if it's the case, isn't it lovely that we have the good old public school system to step in to raise other people's children?

Oh, was that snarky? Sorry, I just get a little sensitive about kids who spend way too much time in school as if 6 hours 5 days a week isn't enough.

It is a presentation on better sleep habits so that your rest will be much enriched and not only that but really cool things will happen to you when you are asleep, such as winning the lottery etc

How-to cleaning classes held by the Janitors?

Nah, prolly not. That would be too useful.

If I had to guess, I'd say "Night School".

But then, no one asked me. =)
