Poor HubbaDette

The HubbaDette is sick today...

She was down all day yesterday with a fever an up all night with the croup. Every time she gets the slightest nasal drizzle she's up with the croup. As you can see, she's not feeling very well today either - poor thing.

Here's the HubbaDood out in the yard this morning waiting on Mom to get breakfast ready - fried egg sandwich. We had already finished 2 hours worth of school work and that was just the math lesson. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the constant wiggling and talking he does. How do you teach time management? I need to learn this myself.

What's with the flies!
This happens every year and it drives me crazy! They are everywhere and when the kids leave the door every-so-slightly cracked open, I get about a million of them in the house searching for food or something dead to crawl on. They only gather like this in the sun light. First they were on the kid's play set and then they migrated toward the house on the deck. Then when the sun hits the back of the house they congregate there. Oh, such fun.

Oh, one of the hardest things ever is to see your child sick! I feel bad for the sweet little darlin. You're kids are really cute and I like wear you live, it looks like a great place to have a family.

Hope she's feeling better soon!!!!

Barbara - Thanks dear. I'm not a big fan of where I live but I try to be happy that I have a nice home. It's the neighborhood I don't like. I prefer the country where it's quiet. I like the sounds of the kids but not the adults.

Meow - Yep the sun was out today and it was in the 70's! Rain all day tomorrow but suppose to be a beautiful weekend.

Badoozer - Thanks Chickie. She's sleeping soundly right now - hoping the croup has subsided. You like that hat? He got that at Cracker Barrel (we call it snacker barrel). He loves that hat. He looks like he's in the outback doesn't he? He also had his gun and holster on around his waist.

Hope HubbaDette feels better soon. Maybe some ice cream might cool her down? It won't make her illness go away, but it will taste nice and will be nice and cold.

HubaDood looks super cool in that hat.

Yikes, flies! We get infested with ants every year and every year have to buy stuff to get rid of them, but I prefer them to flies. I hate flying insects: wasps are my worst but the others freak me out too.

Here's hoping we never get flying ants trying to move in. That'd suck.

:-)

Alice - Thanks, I hope she does too. Ice cream sounds good but I'm afraid to say I ate all that. She's been eating a lot of popsicles (freezer pops). They seem to help soothe her throat.

The flies are sooo bad. What makes it worse is the HubbaDette is so afraid of them - actually, she's afraid of any flying bug. She goes into a panic convulsive mode when a fly comes within a foot of her. I don't know how she's going to function as a adult and be that afraid of flies.

Poor Hubbadamsel! I sure hope she feels better soon. That is miserable. I hate being sick and I hate it when my babies are sick.

HubbaDood looks like he is on a WalkAbout! What a guy! I should post a picture of his Uncle Joe in his outback hat.

I wonder what is attracting the flies? Are they just resting or what? Are their no trees in your hard they can land on ?? HubbaDamsel needs a flyswatter at all times...one encrusted with jewels. :o)

Have a great day and don't work too hard! :o)

It's Spring, when a young fly's thoughts turn to amoré...

AuntiJ - A flyswatter encrusted with jewels sounds like it would be right up her ally.

Foo - You got it buddy, and so eloquently said!

I've seen a lot of folks hang a large baggie filled with water by their door and they swear it keeps flies out. Restaurants do it, I think my sister even tried it last year. I'll ask her how it worked.

Uncle Joe - I would like to know about the baggie thing. Only, it would have to look pretty tacky don't you think?

58 - I'm sorry you're feeling bad. HubbaDette was up and about quite a bit more today. She even had some of her sassy mouth.

hang the water filled baggie by your back door for a week and see what happens.
or the door closest to the kitchen.

tacky?
no ma'am.
wacky maybe....

Uncle Jo - What kind of bag? A Kroger bag or a zipper bag? How big a bag?

Ms. Sometimes - She's feeling a lot better. She had some kind of virus that was going around in our little parts.

yeah a ziplock bag probably a quart size.
