And she sings...

Okay, it's been a long time coming but here it is. Once I got it loaded I had to wait for it and then I couldn't find it for some reason and Google wouldn't recognize my user name and password. I had to make a trip over to FunkyRedhead's house and decided to see if I could log into Google Video over there and it worked. Somethings wrong with my cookies I guess.

I have another song from that evening, the one I wrote for HubbaDood. As soon as I can figure out the Google problem I will post it as well.

PATTY GRIFFIN LYRICS
"Sweet Lorraine"

Sweet Lorraine the fiery haired brown eyed schemer
Who came from a long line of drinkers and dreamers
Who knew that sunshine don't hold up to dark
Whose businesses fail
Who sleep in the park
Lorraine who spoke of paintings in Paris
And outlandish things to her family just to scare us
whose heart went pokin' where it shouldn't ought
Whose mother could only spit at the thought of Lorraine, sweet Lorraine

Her father would tear out like a page of the bible
Then he'd burn down the house to announce his arrival
Her mother was working and never was home
Lorraine carved out a little life of her own
Lorraine started working,
Lorraine went to school
Her mother threw stones at her on the day that she moved
Now isn't that a very strange thing to do
For someone who never really wanted you
Lorraine, sweet Lorraine

Her daddy called her a tramp and a bum (reworded by Anne)
On the night before her wedding day
The very next morning at the church
Her daddy gave Lorraine awayLorraine, Lorrainne away, Lorraine, sweet Lorraine

In the battle of time in the battle of will
It's only your hope and your heart that gets killed
And it gets harder and harder Lorraine, to believe in magic
When what came before you is so very tragic
Lorraine, sweet Lorraine
Lorraine, sweet Lorraine

Very nice, Anne. I only wish I could have heard that with better sound quality so I could actually hear the words!

Way to go!

Ok, so can we get together and be a complete rock house Indigo Girls style? How far do you live from me, gee whiz!

That was incredible. I loved it, loved it, loved it.

For some reason you reminded me of the main lady from heart (big voice---and blows me away).

Anne, you're a rock star! I also thought you sound a bit like Ann Wilson with your rich powerful voice.

Thank you ALL! All of you are just too kind. I wish I could perform more often but life is too full right now for "ME" stuff.

Doozer - I don't know that one - is that off her newest release?

I was at a friend's house this evening and was able to log into Google video and send the link via e-mail to myself. The next opportunity I have I will post the other video.

Great video! You have a powerful voice. Sad the acoustics weren't doing your voice quality justice. If I get a video device such as a PSP in the near future (which I hope to), it'll be the first one I download. I'm not just sayin' that to be nice, either.

I'd love to hear you sing Blue Moon of Kentucky.

Oh, and I'm sure your cookies tasted just fine ^_^

I posted again today and explained some things, maybe not all. I can't remember now. Getting up at 4am stinks.
