Last Friday evening was Light Up Our Little Town, Kentucky. We don't usually attend because it always happens to be entirely too cold and in the past I never wanted to take my kids out in it. Well, this year we did. Let me rephrase that, I did. HubbaHoney stayed home so he could finish building a platform for my new washer and dryer (that's another post).
Apparently a big group of people we worship with make it an annual routine to attend this little small town event and they always make it a point to ride the horse and carriage. We must have stood in line FREEZING for thirty minutes. Several school groups were singing Christmas songs at different businesses.
I found it quite interesting as I stood in line for the horse and carriage ride how differently people are affected by the cold. I wasn't too terribly bundled up but all that was cold on me were my hands. I had both kids bundled beyond the ability to hardly move and HubbaDette never uttered a single complaint about the cold even when her hat kept falling off. I kept asking her if she was cold and she would just say "no". On the other hand, HubbaDood complained quite frequently that his hands and his ankles were cold. His ankles. Okay.
The best part of the whole evening was when HubbaDood looked up at me and said "Mom, my hands feel like peppermint."
Such joy in my heart.
Here we are feeling like "peppermint" while riding the horse and carriage.

Uncle Joe - Lets just say "minty".
It looks really cold, but fun.
That's cute. His ankles.
My ankles are cold today because I wore the wrong socks. I feel like a peppermint too!

Come read!
Sounds and looks fun! Cold, but fun! *LOL*
I hate it when my ankles get cold!
Mmmmm I love peppermint! (So that means I love you too!)
Fred - How cold is it in Tampa?
Rachel - Yep, the ankles. I believe he needs leg warmers.
Leslee - I'm gonna use the "peppermint" description from now on.
Funky-R - I'm not ready for that yet!
Mama - Well, it was fun to the kids. I was trying.
AuntieJ - My ankles never get cold. I'm not a fan of peppermint so I guess I'm not a fan of being cold. I love you too!
Anne: 75 today, probably 55 tonight. Not bad.
You know you almost won.
Update already!
Quit pestering me Uncle Joe! I'll get to it. Been overwhelmed with school duties and Christmas. AAHHHH!!
How about Aquafresh Minty?
I like the cold. You can get more clothes on. When you get hot you can only get so naked without the neighbors complaining.
