Leaves

Leaves. While I love this time of year it is the beauty of it I love so much - NOT the labor of it. I guess everything comes with a price. This is a picture of my back yard this morning. The leaves are soaking wet from this week's rain. While wet leaves are easier to rake, they don't make for good piles to swing and jump into - at least that's what I was told by the little Hubbas.

I'm lucky I have built in labor. Look at these two little busy bees. This lasted about 20 minutes and then...

. . .the announcement I just heard from the back door "We've done 20 piles! Can we come in?"

Me: "No. You need to go play."

I'm down with the creepy crud that's been making its way around our house. Right now I just want to sleep. But, that aint gonna happen.

Nearly two decade of indentured servitude is kind of nice. :~) Maybe a bit optimistic. Maybe a bit sadistic. Call me crazy, but, why else would we have kids except for someone to do our chores for us, right?

Oh no! Not THE CRUD! Hope you are feeling better and soon! Leaves? We don't rake 'em... The wind through the holler blows them away! *Chuckle*

(Gotta love the kiddos!)

Euphrony - That's what I used to tell my parents. They had me for a personal slave.

Funky-Redhead - you hush!

Emmers - Well, since the weather was nice yesterday the leaves dried pretty well and we getting ready to head out and put them in a HUGE pile at the bottom of the slide.

Mrs. Moo - My neighbors have that same philosophy. Only their leaves blow into OUR yard.

Yep. I am doin the leaf thing too. It is crazy. Way too much of them. It is almost depressing.

Rachel - You aint kiddin' about depressing. When I'm raking I try not to look around at the big picture. Little bits at a time.
