Happy Birthday HubbaDood!

I was scheduled for an induction on Monday, October 18, 1999. After starving all day and arriving at the hospital in the wee hours of the morning I was told I wasn't on the schedule until Tuesday morning. "Okay - no baby today" I thought. "Let's go eat!"

We returned the next morning (Tuesday) and signed in. It didn't take very long before I was poked and prodded and started on patosin. Days passed and after vomiting several times, only dilating to 2 and my water finally breaking on Thursday, my precious little boy was finally born via c-section on Friday, October 22, 1999 somewhere around 7:00 a.m. It was on that day that the Lord struck me with the most unexplainable, overwhelming feeling of love, fear and joy all at once. It's amazing how the heart aches for your child. I truly believe God gives us children so we could have a glimpse of an idea of the immense love He has for us. It is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced.
My sweet boy is 7 today. He has brought seven years of enlightenment to my life. I look forward to however many the Lord wills for us to have together.
I would like to share with you the lyrics to a song I wrote when he was a baby. Whenever I get my guitar out he smiles and says "sing my song momma."

* Happy Birthday Baby *

Anne, that was a beautiful song! Happy B-day to the handsome little Doo! I agree totally about why the Lord gave us children. I never knew love until I had my son.

I wrote him a song too and he used to ask me to sing it, but I am too embarrassed to share it.

Happy day to you too!

Anne I hope he had a special and wonderful birthday! 7 is an awesome age to be at for both him and you! Your song is so special I can see why he requests it! Happy Birthday to your Big Boy!

Lisa - Thanks so much!

Barbara (layla) - That's so great you wrote him a song. I'm sure it's means a lot to him.

Rachel - I would share the recording if I ever knew how to do it.

Uncle J - Not sure what key it's in. I just play. Capo at 3rd fret - play Am, G, D. Does that help? :)

FunkyR - Haven't you heard me sing that before? Sorry. As soon as you're up and well and you're over here at HubbaDooVille I'll scratch it off for you.

Fruity - He had a GREAT birthday. "It was the best birthday ever" he said. Until next year.
