Bye Mamaw

My grandmother died at 2:30 this morning. It has been a rough time for her. I got a call Wednesday that Hospice had been called and that she wasn't expected to make it more than another week. We spent Wednesday evening and all day Friday with her. I am sad to let my Mamaw go.

This is a photo taken of my Mamaw holding me - I was two months old. Next to her are my two youngest aunts (yes, she had a three year old when I was born). My Dad was the oldest of 11 and I'm the oldest of about 30 grandkids. She was always busy giving of herself.

I'm sorry, Anne. It's good that you got to spend some time with her before she went. If she was having a rough time it was probably a relief for her, but I know still sad for the rest of the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. This photo is classic, it reminds me so much of my own grandmother's kitchen. Hugs to you Anne.

Oh, anne, big hugs. She had a beautiful smile. You can see she loved her family, even in that glimpse of her. I will be thinking of you...

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Anne. It's always difficult to let go, but I know that you know better than most that she has so much more than this brief existence waiting for her.

Anne I am so sorry for your lose. It is hard to say goodbye to someone who you hold dear to your heart. But you know that she will be seen again one day in our fathers house and that does help comfort. Hugs to you!

Thanks again you guys. I appreciate all of you. It's been a long day today at the funeral home and another long day tomorrow. Then it will be time to move on.

Oh God, bad news just keeps coming...

I'm so sorry, Anne.

I've said it to Elizabeth, to Susie, to Beth, to Chris, to Mike, and I'll say it to you: I'm here if you need me. You can email me and I will (as soon as possible; the time difference makes it difficult) email back if you want me to.

I'll listen.

I'm here.

As all your friends are.

God bless your grandmother's soul. And yours. And your family’s.

*BIG HUG & KISS*

Anne, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's always hard to let one that we love go home to be with the Lord. Cherish all the precious memories you have of her and take comfort in knowing that she is no longer in any pain.

Alice - you are so very sweet. Thank you.

B-Mom - So many good memories. I know it is time to continue my path without out her. Not really without her for I am who I am partly because of her.
