It's here..

The post you've all been waiting for. First of all, I will NOT be 40 until Sunday the 26th but in order to throw me off, The Hubbs and my sister had a surprise birthday party for me this past Saturday. They really got me too. And guess what... I got what I wanted. Can you guess? Do you know what I've been wanting? I've only hinted about it all over blogland. A new digital camera!! No more fuzzy pics from that old cheezy thing I had before. Be ready folks - I'll be taking pictures like a mad woman. Bring on the challenges Badoozer!!!

In case you're wondering, this is a pic of my baby sister and me after church yesterday - we were messing around with the camera. Also, if you're wondering again, yes we come from the same parents. I look like dad and she and my brother look like mom - Italian.

I wish I had time to give you all the details about how The Hubbs plotted and schemed to get me to my sister's house all the while I was making it very difficult on him. The HubbaKids weren't cooperating, I was in rare form and ready to forget taking the kids to my sister's and going to a "movie".

Me: "Forget it! He's punished!"
HubbaDood: "What?!"
Hubbs: "What's going on now?"
Me: "He didn't want me to do his hair and he threw a fit."
Hubbs: "Come on, we've got three minutes to get in the car."
HubbaDette: "I want to take my baby."
HubbaDood: "I don't want to wear a coat!"
Me: "Just get in the car!"
Hubbs: "Have you got the keys?"
Me: "I didn't drive the car last?"
HubbaDood: "Can we watch a movie on the way there?"
Me: "No. Get in the car!"
HubbaDood: "What?!" rolling eyes.
HubbaDette: "I want to get in by myself!"
Hubbs: "Where are the keys?"
HubbaDette: "LET ME DO IT!!"
Me: "We don't have time hunny."
HubbaDood: "My seatbelt won't work!"
Me: "Calm down and unlock it."
Hubbs: "Is everyone in yet?"
Me: "I think so. We've got two minutes to spare, let's go."

For the record, I do NOT dress like this! The scarf was a gift my mom made, the black thing on my sweater was a "40" pin and the flower was off one of my packages - I thought it would be funny to wear - HubbaDette liked it. Behind me is a collage my sister made of the pictures she has of me growing up (I have most of the family pictures so it wasn't easy for her).

I still have a few more days of life in my 30s and then it's off to 40land. Can't wait to see what the next ten years have in store.

Ooooh, I'm first ....

Looks like you had a wonderful party, Anne. Don't know how I would've reacted to a surprise party ... I'm not real good at surprises. Congratulations on the new camera ... yay, the photos are great. Happy (early) birthday for the 26th (in case I forget !!). Glad you had a great day.

Take care, Meow

I would second badoozers comment on your younger sister. You do look younger.(no offense to your sis..)

A new camera? Outstanding! Although... I dunno. It just might not be the same without those moody blue- and green-tinted photos.

Ah, how I envy you youngsters your youth. (4x Triple letter alliteration score! Yowza!)

BeeNee - Thanks for the compliment and thanks for the birthday wishes!

Foo - I can still keep using the cheezy camera if you like. By the way, I guess I'm not up with the "geek" talk - what are you trying to say in that "zone" you were in?

Uncle Joe - Thanks for the compliment. I try to stay out of the sun. If I had thought of that earlier in life I would probably look 16. Right.

Kish - Thanks Kishy. I still have a few more days left. But like I always say... it's birthweek.

58 - Happy Birthday to you too! March is so nice because Spring is here. I'm glad to hear that about the next ten years. I'm glad I'm turning 40 and NOT wondering what I'm doing with my life - that's something to be happy about.

berrymom - Thanks. I'm thinking it will be great. It IS hard to believe I'm already at this age. It's even harder to believe I'm 40 with a 6 year old and a 3 year old.

40 seems younger and younger these days!

I hope you have a wonderful fun filled birthday this weekend?

Scrabble™-speak, more like. I said, "...I envy you youngsters your youth." Four words in a row (4x), all starting with the same letter (= "alliteration")—and not only the first letter, but the first three (hence the "triple letter" comment).

I guess maybe I should get out more.
