Beware - Kitchen Post

This is just awful. I can't stand it. But yet, I sit here at this computer doing nothing about it. I will though. Before The Hubbs gets home it will sparkle like brand new. In the meantime, I've got to deal with it. This is my kitchen after making home-made chicken and dumplin's and baking cookies yesterday.

I then proceeded to go to bed without cleaning it up. In my defense I was gone more than I was home yesterday and when I was home I was preparing some form of consumable product. AAAHHHHH!! Will I make it before The Hubbs gets home?

What about you? Are you brave enough to share your kitchen with the blog world? If so, let me know.

Also, let's play "I Spy". Can you locate my favorite sugar replacement?

Your replacement appears to be two very small container of Play-doh...?

Uncle Joe - You would think so wouldn't you? wrong. I took these pictures but they don't do justice as to how bad this mess "was" - yes I just finished cleaning it. I needed to show close up of the sugar and flour and crumbs and sticky juice and dried yogurt, etc. I could go on and on.

That's the picnic blanket on the bar chair - covered in spilled orange juice from this morning.

Hey, Uncle Joe stole my comment! I was going to say that! Hey sweetie, anyone that can cook chicken dumplings from scratch deserves to have a messy kitchen for a day or so!!!

I want one of those cookies sitting there!

I also agree with BarBar, homemade chicken and dumplings is worth a mess 3 times the size of that one.

It's impossible to cook something really yummy without making a mess. Don't stress. And, those cookies look good ... please share !!
Take care, Meow

I see a bag of organic sucenat on the counter by the sink. Is that the suger sub?

No pictures of my kitchen they would make you cry. Hubby is a bit of a neat freak when it comes to the kitchen so it never would look like yours.

hey....i just got here. i love your kitchen! it is so huge!

my Nan taught me how to make home made chicken and dumplin's ....she was the best dumplin' maker this side of the Mississippi. I haven't perfected her technique yet. The last time I tried it was a big hunk o dough floating in broth. i made my family eat some anyway. it was christmas for cryin out loud!!

Badoozer - I told you it was bad - didn't I?

Barbara - You don't want one of those cookies. We call those "hi-octane" cookies. They are for the HubbaDette so she can "move without fear" so to speak.

Uncle Joe - They WERE pretty tasty.

Meow - It IS hard not to make a mess but I'm one of those that clean as I go only I didn't have the time to do it and then I didn't know where to begin.

58 - I'm pretty picky about my kitchen. Mostly because everyone sees it. I feel like I'm in there cleaning non stop.

Aunti J - It IS a big kitchen. I can't complain about that but... it does make for more to keep clean. My mother-in-law taught me how to make them because my mom hates them. She can't possibly imagine eating "raw dough". I asked her what she thought pasta was?

Anyway, I took this huge pot of chicken and dumpling to this mom's lunch and then we had them for dinner. What was so funny is that everyone there was amazed that I made them from scratch. This is one of the questions I heard: "So you rolled out the dough yourself"? I almost laughed out loud! They are amazed because I always say how much I hate to cook and they tell me now it's because I cook (and bake) from scratch. I was the only one there who cooks and bakes from scratch. I'm not a big fan of pre-packed food.

Aunti J - when I get time I will send you my dumplin recipe and directions. It's pretty easy - but messy.

"Move without fear"??

Is that your way of saying the cookies are loaded with bran?

Anne said...

Badoozer - It is my sugar "replacement". That would be my Stevia. Can you find it?

Foo - You are soooo smart! I get anything past you can I?

Anne said...

I'm working on a new post so I will tell you where the Stevia is - above the dishwasher. Small brown bottle with a dropper top next to the Aquafina.

Just looking at all these comments and you see how most people only notice the things you don't. like yummy cookies, cute blue bags, play doh containers, etc... you just look at it and see MESS< we look at it and see a good cook, a great Mom, a shopper, someone who likes coffee, takes picnics, etc...I am the same way, I fret about my house all the time, but with each passing year, i get better and better and learn to have more and more fun instead...maybe I should post pics of my house, certain areas so I can see what people see :).
