All Is Calm on the Hair-Front

Well, I didn't get any sleep last night. "Hubba-dood", as Foo refers to him, puked in his bed and ended up in the Hubba-Dults' bed with garbage can by the bedside. About an hour later Hubba-doodette climbed in. All four of us - luckily it's a king bed but - I LIKE TO HAVE MY SQUIRMING SPACE people! Hubba-dood talked every thirty minutes complaining that he was hungry and thirsty. I let him sip some water each time hoping he didn't defile the only safe haven of rest in the entire house.

But, all is well today. He has kept down some ginger ale and saltines - good sign. I guess we'll move on to some more solid sustenance.

On a separate note, I've been reading a lot lately about the Mullet here and here. Thought I would add my hair-doo pics. Let's start off with the high school graduation picture. I remember being in such a hurry to get ready that day because I had to pick up a girlfriend of mine (my friend I still have since 7th grade) and head to get our pictures taken. I was in such a hurry I forgot to put my mascara on. Thank goodness I had some leftover from the night before. This was taken in 1984.

I didn't have a mullet but I did have BIG hair. I've spent about an hour in the basement this morning digging through photos to come up with some good ones to post. My feet are frozen from standing around on the cold concrete floor down there.

Oh well, here they are. This first one of me at the microphone is a good side view of my big hair from the mid to late 80's. The Hubbs and I met via the guitar player in the band - they worked together at their daytime jobs. The Hubbs loved to take photos and so I have a huge pile of these things in the basement. The next one is me on a boat waiting for people to show up before we "set sail" to do our show. The Hubbs is next to me but I decided to leave him out of this - he was looking too 80ish.

The next one was taken while working a prom in Glasgow, Ky (I think this is Foo's home town) - remember the "banana clip"? And last but not least, another shot of the beautiful banana clip while posing with my brother at his high school graduation.

So, what do ya think? How about that eye makeup?! Whenever we'd play in a real smoky club my mascara would run down my cheeks.

It's so funny how good you think you look and then as time passes and you reflect back at photos of yourself and wonder "Why?"

Oh my....I voted for Foo, but I think I want to change my vote to RockerAnne!! :o)

I bet you spent a fortune in hairspray. What was your favorite brand?

Jennifer - Queen of the 80's - you think? I can't believe I actually did my hair like that. Just so you all know, my hair was only big when I was on stage. I didn't walk around looking like that every day.

Firebarbie - It was a lot of work to get it that high. If the lights behind me were shining just right you could see right through it.

Uncle Joe -
You're right - I rocked ma'an! :)

Barbara - I graduated in 1984. The band pictures were taken between 1987 and 1989.

Auntie J - My favorite brand at the time was Vidal Sasoon Styling Spritz. I could hold my hair straight up in the air, spray it, dry with a light blow of the hair dryer and it would stand straight up. I remember the hairspray being caked on the bathroom door, wall and floor. It was always hard to scrub up.

Pretty 80s hair, Anne. Hope Hubba-dood is now on the mend, and you have no more puking episodes. Yuk, that is awful to clean up, isn't it !!
Take care now, Meow

Uncle Joe - I don't think he ever wants to do that again.

Jenn - Thanks Jenn. It's pretty funny isn't it?

Meow - It has been a mess to keep clean. I just hope the Hubba Doodette doesn't get it.

Hi Kishy. This the only post I see on here from you.

Well people, I would post about this but I'm too sick. Apparently I've got the virus. My house is a discusting mess, and my kids won't leave me alone.

Calgon?!

Those were the days! Now everything is "sleek and smooth". I don't have that kind of hair. It poofs and puffs much better. It likes to be big. Instead it just gets choved onto a ponytail. I loved banana clips!

Aqua Net, banana clips and big bar hair. Those are great photos!

Hope you feel better Anne. We have matching houses..I've been gone and hubby watched the kids...not the house, just the kids. ug.

Just me so far. I had to call The Hubbs yesterday to come home. I'm hoping Hubba Dudette doesn't get it because it was pretty hard on Hubba Dood.

Admit it: your mascara was running because Air Supply covers always get you misty-eyed, right?

Another Kentuckian by the grace of God here (Derby City, to be exact).
