Rain Rain, Don't Go Away

I thought I would share some pics of the HubbaBrood enjoying the much needed rain we received a few days ago. Can you tell they were enjoying themselves? I remember we used to play in the "ditch" after a big rain - that was the neighborhood swimming hole when we were young. Sliding in the mud was always a good thing too.

58 - It rained enough to need a "boat"? Cool.

Barbara - Isn't it though? Anytime it rains without the lightening or thunder I will let them play in it.

CowChick (I told you that's your new name) - I don't worry about germs too much - at least they are natural. Unlike chemicals and pesticides.

I love the rain. It's just the hurricanes that I have a problem with.

Oh please send some our way! I miss the rain so much! We won't start our "wet" season for awhile yet, and the heat is just too oppressive! I love these pics and thanks for the comments. Mercola is great isn't he?

We don't have to worry much about flooding, right now. Even if the skies opened up and poured, any water that didn't immediately soak into the parched ground would be handled by the storm drains. Anything that couldn't be handled by the storm drains would be swallowed up by the two-inch wide cracks in my yard.

The only way you'd see pictures like yours around here is if someone knocked open a hydrant—as well as lovely mug shots when whoever did it got hauled off to the pokey!

Wow, good times! How fun! we use to do that when we were little too!! If it rains before Summer is over, i am going to do this with my little guy! What a fun way to let them JUST BE KIDS :).

I loved playing in the aftermath of a good storm while growing up in VA, but now I live in TX. I'm with Foo: if it rained for a week straight we'd never see an inch of accumulation.

CarlyFry - I was there and I'm still thinking about this picture I'm suppose to draw.

Fred - We love the rain too just not the tornadoes.

jhart - Thanks for visiting with me too. I'm thinking about starting another blog my wierd (as I'm sure people call me) thinking about food/chemicals.

Foo - It's funny, while the kids were playing in the rain HubbaDood shouted out to me "MOM! I prayed for rain and it rained!!!" I'll ask him to pray for rain in your area. :)

Kish: Playing in the rain is so much fun for them. I am more apt to let them do that than let them spontaneously run out and play in the snow in the winter - too many clothes involved in that. I'm going to try to have extra winter stuff available in the coat closet this winter for those giant snowflake days.

Cash - Maybe you and Foo need to move to the great state of Kentucky. :)
